Agree with redface. Although have to say the story leaves lots of unanswered questions, such as what exactly was the deal with Ryanair in the first place and what did the travellers want to change. (Calculated that £6000 divided by 28 is over £200, a lot, if that is extra cost)

Sorry guys, I didn't read the full story that it was for 28 people (only getting half a story).  Anyway SteveL, as you say, £200 is still a lot.  The 28 people could hire a coach to take them to the ferry terminal and then get a boat and then onward journey wherever.  Can't cost as much surely

Yes.  Methinks there is more to this story than meets the eye.   In defence (!) of Ryanair; we have used them many times and you get what you pay for; a cheap, reliable flight with no frills.  The terrorism 'get out clause' is common to all airlines as such action is out of their control.  Ryanair web site says that flights using Brussels will be rerouted to Chareloi  and that passengers should make their way there.
