14th March 1757

A significant date in our family, it is the day the the great Admiral of the Blue was shot for Treason due to his alleged cowardice at the Battle of Menorca in 1757, he was shot on the poop deck of his ship Monarch, but later exonerated.

The great man lays at rest in the Crypt of All Saints Church in Southill,Bedfordshire.
