Which  a  bloke  could  open  with a  ( normally  Steel )  comb  unless  the  crafty  owner  had  swapped  the  catches  side for  side,  then  it  required  a  slightly more technical  steel comb  with  the teeth removed  !!  Ah  yes,  Technical  Engineering  at  HN3  was never  wasted  time

The more up market cars that had a seat in the boot lid   "Dickie Seat " .(Elfin Safe T ???) 

My dad modified a 'Watsonian' sidecar to incorporate one. It was a bit nippy in it though.
