Ok, so first of all this would be too big realistically for taking away in the caravan.   It's one of those gadgets you see being advertised on the shopping channels on a Saturday morning at 7am!.

Normally I don't fall for them, but I thought OK what the heck why not.  Anyway £74 later a lady knocked at the door this afternoon with my new gadget.  The intention is it will replace my home slow cooker.

Followed the instructions for 1st time use and concluded it wasn't working/piece of junk etc......

Anyway it finally appeared to work and then I thought OK let's do a test and I thought let's test it on rice and let's do a simple flavoured rice with a stock cube and curry powder.

Well it was quite clear all was not going to plan as it was showing it was trying to build pressure at the same time as releasing it.  So I stopped it, opened it and started again.  It looks like the pressure release valve wasn't working.  The rice however was almost cooked.  So I thought let's try it again now and cook it for another 6 minutes.

Well you can blow me down with a feather......  I've just sampled what has to be the nicest savoury brown rice with all the water cooked off.  I'm now just trying to decide with the meat to accompany the rice!

Haha, well I've just done the meat to accompany the rice.  Lovely, it was melt in the mouth.

I think all I need to do is do a bit of work on the quantity of liquid and then I'm pretty much there.  I've got about 400ml of gravy left.  However I'm plotting using that to do another savoury rice which would make a nice lunch and probably about 30p per portion!
