I thought a ploughman's was a hunk of bread, slab of cheese and chutney. I suppose these days you could add leaves, tomatoes, celery, radish and other salad ingredients. Scotch eggs and slices of gammon ought to make it substantial. How did you find yourself is this predicament?

I often find myself in these predicaments Bakers It's usually pie & peas suppers, or afternoon teas... or birthday cakes When I'm asked to do these things, I just can't say no (unless we're away in the caravan of course)

Before I retired I was a Head Chef and our Ploughmans consisted of a piece of cheese with 1/4 of a pear, 1 slice of ham ( rolled up) 2 pickled onions, 1 boiled egg and about a tblsp of chutney or Branson type pickle plus 1/2 a baguette with butter. The homemade Coleslaw someone mentioned would be a bonus to any Ploughmans.
