Don't have an Aldi...wink

I do like marmite and peanut butter, though not together, ever! Peanut butter on toast with blackcurrant jam is comfort food for me.

I hear others rely on these for similar effects...๐ŸฅŸ๐ŸฅŸ๐ŸฅŸ  laughing

Off limits for me I'm sorry to say.

We used to use it for the base of a good gravy and Mrs WN used to eat it quite a bit in various guises including crisps. Says it reminds her of the Bovril hot drinks she used to get in her childhood.

Yes, I spotted it tonight in our local Aldi. I like both, but didn’t bother buying tonight. I like a scrape of marmite topped with Philadelphia cream cheese on nice bread.........or, from my childhood days, crunchy peanut butter, topped with golden syrup!๐Ÿ˜ฑ The calorie count is off the scale, but the combination is simply divine. Haven’t dared try it for years.๐Ÿ˜ฅ

We often do what we call Gourmet Beans on Toast.......poach mushrooms, drain. Add baked beans, extra tomato purée, meanwhile toast some nice thick sliced bread, scrape with marmite, load bean mixture on top, grate some decent Parmesan on top, lots of black pepper, yummy. Staple MH picnic lunch in Winter, while bird watching from comfort of MH๐Ÿ˜

Still like Bovril drinks,  and Marmite ( or Vegemite --  Must support the Aussies embarassed ) but some of the other snacks mentioned would get me banned from Diabetes UK Membership   cry

Real comfort food, but gives you three veggie hits as well. We don’t always add the cheese, depends how the diet is going!

Mentioning it has just prompted our day out for next week. We need to take MH for a run, so might do RSPB Blacktoft Sands. Walk the five or six hides, have a warm by the stove in the main centre, then back to MH for..........Gourmet Beans๐Ÿ˜‚

Peanut butter and a tangy marmalade is another good combination.

Cheddar cheese slices and marmite sandwiches sounds good.
