I was having a bag of chips the other night, complete with potato fritter.  I explained to my partner that potato fritters were also known as Klondykes or Scollops in this part of the world, the terminology of which she totally rejected.

I rest my case... lol Happy

I know they call things by different names in many parts of the country. Anyone outside of Manchester probably wondered what a 'balm cake' was after the term was frequently mentioned in the corner shop, or the cafe in Coronation Street.

Is there anything food wise in your own location, that is known by a different name, as part of your local dialect?
