We have been eating peas, strawberries and raspberry's for a couple of weeks now but tonight we had our first broad beans and wonderful they were to.  What are others eating that are home grown?

Much the same as you Oneputt. Our peas and beans have been slow due to dry weather. Loads of raspberries, red currants and blackcurrants. Lettuce, in various colours, tomatoes nearly ready. smile

Years ago we used to grow a lot of fruit and vegetables - but the only "home grown" food we eat/drink now is milk!

Plus a few apples later in the year.

Strawberries and raspberries, few tomatoes have ripened early. We have sweet potatoes and Pink Fir Apple potatoes later hopefully.

Mum used to grow a garden full of veg, peas, beans, tatties etc... sis used to do lots just on her flat balcony.

We have lots of flowers for cutting as well, love homegrown flowers around the house.

Walk this afternoon and picked enough wild strawberries and raspberries to have with ice cream this evening.  Small wild strawberries have really intense flavour.

They're lovely Oneputt, don't see many wild strawberries around here so I grow a few alpine strawberries to make up for it. smile

Potatoes, lettuce, strawberries.  Our peas were rubbish, again.  Start picking courgettes tomorrow.  Only have  autumn raspberries and they had a setback because the rabbits chewed them down to the ground.  Love growing a few veg in a few raised beds.

Due to my late start this year - I haven't had much from the garden yet although grazed a few peas and a broad bean pod (I never seem to plant enough of those two and they seldom get to the house!)  yesterday I had my first French beans from a climbing plant - and the lettuce will soon be ready.  Most striking are the deep purple French Beans that I bought in France - they are coming along nicely - I just hope they taste at least as good as their green friends.  I believe the original ones were purple.  A bit of rainbow colour anyway.
