Strictly -- Should be fair to all contestants

Despite the BBC shamelessly promoting Munchetty on  news programmes for many days now, she put on a very poor performance last night.

No other contestant received anything like that level of publicity that the BBC employee Munchetty had heaped upon her prior to the competition commencing.

Surprised

I certainly can't match that for in depth analysis! Wink

But I have a vague memory that the reason for this was that, a few series back, when it got down to 4or 5 couples, it was discovered that one couple couldn't possibly be saved by the public vote so they just scrapped the whole thing and let all the couples stay. Doubtless someone will remember it more accurately.

Have to say that, although it doesn't matter greatly to me, I can't see the purpose of the public vote, except as a money making exercise. If it's supposed to be a dance competition, scrap it and leave it for the judges to decide, possibly until the final. Happy

Seen in the newspapers I read while in Tesco's waiting for my wife to complete the shopping today,  There is apparently a spoiler on the net, where the Ultimate winner of the Christmas Special has been anounced. The BBC is trying to have it removed.

I hope nobody post that news on here as it would spoil the last few weeks of the Dancing show for myself and many others.

Cheers....................K

M, i also have this vague recollection....ill see if i can drag it up...

however, if adding the (positional) points from the judges to those calculated from the public vote (if they must have one), the least they can do is attache the same value to each source, which they dont.

Not sure how knowing the result of the Christmas special would spoil the last few weeks of the current series? Undecided

The right result imho, the judge did look a bit like a gorilla at times, entertaining, but not class. Ore was slightly more polished.

Think Ore will go next week in a dance off with Louise. How's that for a strictly spoiler?Wink....Cool

2008, Tom Chambers was in 3rd place after judges score, but joint leaders so couldn't in theory be saved. They let all three go through. He went on to win the series.
