For fans of Inspector Montalbano a new series started yesterday on BBC Channel Four. See here for details http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01cbq6b Everyone looking a bit older and a new lady playing Livia. All quite lightweight in comparison to the likes of Line of Duty. Almost worth watching for the beautiful Sicilian scenery. Further good news in that there might be a new series of Young Montalbano on the way.

I always enjoy it but have to record it as it's not a family favourite. As a fluent Italian speaker I actually have trouble understanding some of the characters who speak in pure Sicilian dialect (rather than just an accent), I thought this was just me but having spoken to native Italians they also agree, which is part of it's charm in Italy apparently.
