It was interesting that following the posts  previously  about Silent Witness last night we had the first of series 5 of Endeavour which was by far the more horrific to date with a shooting, a metal punch hammered through an ear, eyes stabbed and a beheading.

Is this just pampering to a current already desensitised society ?

Inevitably detective stories are about murders so you are going to have bodies. If you want desensitised murders perhaps you have to watch Father Brown?

The violence in Endeavour somehow seemed less gratuitous and, as the story revealed, had its origin in artworks. As an aside, I don't think we should allow Jael to join CAMC.

Just caught up with the Sunday episode and it had quite a surprising ring of familiarity given what happened in Salisbury the same day as it was broadcast!

Next week is the last episode in the current series and I think we will see some changes in the command structure.
