Are any CT people going to Ed's stadium tour?

We have tickets for his Manchester concert on Sunday night, really looking forward to it. Just hope it doesn't rain....

K - were they the people who booked through one of the disgraceful "secondary ticketing" sites? The sooner that racket is made illegal, the better IMO. I believe Ed and his team are assisting those folk in reclaiming the outrageous amounts of money demanded of them by the likes of viagogo.

Since nobody else wants to reply to your post M I'm happy to step in and oblige.smile

If somebody buys a ticket for a concert in good faith and pays over their hard earned for the privilege. what right has the concert artist to deny them access to the venue.  I personally know a number of people who were victims of the Glasgow Ed Sheeran debacle. They are now hundreds of pounds out of pocket and quite rightly are no longer fans of that singer and will now never ever go to any of his future concerts. . Sheeran has done absolutely zilch to help those people.

I personally have never rated Sheeran as a singer and would never attend any of his concerts - so I was fortunately spared being fleeced.

Well since I specifically asked you, K, why do you think anyone else would answer.

I'm afraid though that your reply illustrates how out of touch you are with the process of ticket buying for big concerts these days. Nobody who bought tickets from official putlets were denied access. Maybe a bit more research would convince you that the blame lies entirely with the industrial scale ticket touting that companies like viagogo engage in these days. I think there's pretty much universal admiration for the stand Ed Sheeran has taken on this subject and for the fact that his team are helping folk who have lost money through the process of getting it back. Your statement about him doing zilch couldn't be more incorrect. Think you need to get your facts right before making that sort of statement, regardless of what the many people you "personally know" may tell you. frown

(You might even look at the link on the first reply to this thread -you're usually very keen to post links to news events.)

You may have your opinion M to which you are entitled. BUT . You have not lost hard earned money over a Sheeran concert. frown

My sympathies lie entirely with the victims,  obviously we won't agree.---  As far as I'm concerned now, any Ed Sheeran concert ain't worth the effort.---- I'm so glad I decided to give it a miss. smile

My sympathies also lie with the victims, K - those folk who paid the outrageous prices demanded by the likes of viagogo. But the facts are indisputable - no one who bought tickets from the official source lost money or was denied access. I absolutely understand why folk are so keen to see their favourite stars that they are pulled into paying for those tickets. But let's put the blame squarely where it late - and that is not with Ed Sheehan or any other artists come to that.

Do you disagree that the likes of viagogo should be outlawed, by the way? undecided

That's up to the courts to decide as you know.  Our opinion doesn't matter and will not influence a thing.  smile

What is important is that a lot of people lost a lot of money over that Sheeran concert.   That should never happen again.  surprised
