Don't know if any of you managed to catch this new Canadian police drama on Saturday night on BBC4. Similar genre to some of the Scandi dramas. Looks as though it could be a good one. Cardinal is a detective, like many others, who seems to want to play by his own rules. He has a new sidekick but she is not just that but an undercover checking him out for another department, a bit like AC-12!!!

Missed it on Saturday, David, but the trailers looked good. Must try to watch it on catch up. I assume it's a serial, so have to watch the episodes in order?

Moulesy

Apparently there are six episodes, in usual BBC4 fashion they are shown two at a time so it will run over three weeks if they stick to the same format. BTW it is pretty gruesome in places!!!

Managed to catch up with the final two episodes last night. I thought it a very good series. Whilst there were some horrific scenes in the programme they were not totally beyond belief if some of the real life cases are anything to go by. There was an interesting family twist in the last episode which sort of suggests that it might be a one off.

The John Cardinal books, by Giles Blunt, are very good reads and best read in sequence. I got them all out of my local library, apart from the very last one which they haven't bought yet, Although it's a few years since I read them, I don't recall Cardinal being quite so dour but the plots are really well put together and the characters are strong.
