John Mayall

So sad to hear of the death of the blues legend, John Mayall - albeit at the grand old age of 90. Another one of my teenage idols has gone. Without him and the Bluesbreakers, blues would possibly never have crossed the Atlantic and we wouldn't have had the likes of Clapton, Pete Green and the Stones.

I remember going to a blues all-night session in Leicester in the mid 60's when John, Eric and Pete all played together - truly awesome and something I will never forget.

RIP John - a true blues legend.
