John or Jaytug, which was his user name here and elsewhere has sadly passed away. I saw this post on Caravan and Motorhome Talk https://www.caravantalk.co.uk/community/topic/171329-john-douglas-known-to-us-all-as-jaydug/ Not sure if it can be seen if not a member of that forum. John was also an occasional poster on this forum, particularly in the Overseas Section where he offered a lot of help on travelling to Spain. He went to Spain most years, initially with his wife, but after her death he used to go solo for many years.

RIP John.

Yes, I believe he was into his early nineties before he finally retired from caravanning. Just had a quick look at his Blog and noted that in 1964 he purchased a new car and new caravan for £1000, interestingly, according to the Bank of England inflation calculator, in todays money that would be £17169! Things have certainly changed!

Yes what a guy he was. Certainly he didn't waste a second of his retirement.

His website is a must read for everyone

What an incredible touring life, huge sadness but lots of happy times as well. RIP
