Why are they so popular?

I spend time reading the posts of members regarding Club sites. Having made a choice very early on in my caravan life that CLs were for me and later economic circumstances dictating to me that CLs rather than club sites was the correct decision as far as I was concerned, I wonder sometimes how it can be so easy to get a pitch on CLs! Reading posts from everything from CC sites looking like car parks, being shrouded with trees ??? Difficulty over peg colours, pitches being to close,  even toilets being closed for service would you believe, prices, speeding, BBQs smoking, noisey neighbours,  etc etc I wonder why CLs don't have a waiting list to get on them! All the above I have never had to worry about. What is it about CC sites people find so appealing? I am not some secret weapon used by CL owners to get more business.!
