Where to begin....

Hello all! I'm completely new to caravaning (don't own one) and have only stayed in one about 20 years ago. I'm also new to "discussion boards"! But here goes....does anyone know of any good static caravan sites that rent small units out (1 or 2 persons) so that I can go and try the whole "caravan living"?

I'm looking for locations around the south coast within a couple of hours drive from Brighton, I need to keep costs down as I will be going initially for 2 or 3 nights by myself. The idea is that me and some a few of my walking group want to drive to places stay in a static caravan and use it as a base for day walks. We don't want to hostel, or B&B. We want to be able to cook own meals and relax at the end of a long days walk.

Any tips about which websites to visit, magazines to read or just pointers in the right direction would be helpful.

Many thanks in advance!
