Unauthorised pitch squatting.

Over the course of the last couple of months we have witnessed what can only be described as pitch squatting.

Our first experience was at Broadway CC site where we arrived at a busy moment and headed off to find our pitch.  We pulled into the less densely populated area of the site and waited whilst a gentleman unhitched his caravan which would enable us to pull into the plot next door.  Upon un-hitching the gentleman immediately reversed quite quickly into the vacant pitch and shouted out that this empty pitch "Is Taken".  I questioned the gentleman pointing out that he had already the pitch next door and he quipped that this pitch had indeed already been taken.  Not wanting to enter into altercation we continued down the lane and managed to find a pitch.  Whilst we were setting up we observed the gentleman setting up his outfit but we were surprised to see the adjacent pitch still remaining empty other than his car.  The pitch was in fact taken some time later by what were clearly friends/family of the aforementioned pitch snaffler.

We have witnessed similar again this weekend (Bank Holiday Weekend) and feel that it is unfair to members to "bag" pitches in lieu of another members arrival.  As members we should all be given an equal opportunity to find our own ideal pitch and as such feel it is inappropriate for members to comandeer their pitches for themselves and other parties.
