So if you book before March 31st your VAT rate will be lower (it has been made during the qualifying period.)

I read it as you will pay the rate in place at the time of payment. No reduction therefore unless the government maintains a lower VAT rate. Can't see why they would personally

That’s how I have interpreted Vat at Club Sites. You pay the rate applicable at the time of your stay, as it’s Government policy, rather than anything the Club has determined. (such as the interim price rises a couple of years ago).

Having just watched the FM of Scotland make her announcement of how Scotland is to come out of Lockdown its not going to be a quick one.

It would appear we are to return to the tier system around the end of April.

If anyone has bookings for Scotland you may wish to amend them as I can't see us opening up to any visitors before May at the very earliest.

This is not going to go down well with the people of Scotland as we have the lowest figures in the whole of the UK yet again we are to be held to the slowest realise from lockdown.

Our May tour in Scotland is at least looking possible. I think we will wait and see rather than change anything at this stage. Several sites have deposits, so not that easy to alter.

Tammy, Or any one else in Scotland, FM was talking about returning to Level 3 at the end of April. What did that entail with regard to Self contained accommodation like campsites?

Our neighbour advised that the VAT  is payable at the rate in force at the time of payment ; if no other payment, ie deposit has been made at lower rate? (i did not understand either?)surprised

The rate is fixed at the time of booking so it will change to a higher rate after March 31st, some will pay more if they book after that date.

i think this is relevant

"All holiday accommodation (hotels, B&Bs, self-catering, caravan and camping sites) can stay open in line with sector guidance for tourism and hospitality. However, tourists should not travel into, or out of, a Level 3 area for holidays or visits. Exceptions for essential travel includes those who must travel for work, education, health, participate in or facilitate shared parenting or for those attending weddings or funerals which requires an overnight stay"

If it goes back to how it was pre Christmas, it would mean you can only go to a campsite if its in your local authority area.

Not as some think if you are in a tier 3 area you can go to any tier 3 area. Tier 3 and 4 in Scotland you are not to travel out of your area. Tier 1 and 2 can but shouldn't go into tier 3/4 areas.

Its going to be a complete farce if we do go back into tiers as folk will just ignore it.

There was no mention of campsites just a general mention that from 26th April new things will open up gradually.

We will head south as soon as we can after having second jab. Whenever that may be, vaccination here over the last week has dropped to a third of what it was the week before.

Thanks Tammy. Doesn't sound good if Tier 3 imposed from 26th.April as we're due away first week in May. Feel sorry for you though having to wait so long to start moving around again. Our FM has indicated that things may change on that front mid March at the next review, although he also said it might be keeping to Local authority areas for a while.

Our number of vaccines are down as well. I'm pretty sure it's do with amount allocated to us by OAZ has dropped for a fortnight while they make changes to their production lines. Should pick up again pretty soon.

Good luck and best wishes.
