I have sites booked for ,March ,April , May and September, I think only the September one is the most likely, health before holiday cool

We can but hope, HD.  I've booked end of March, and then a selection of sites in April, May  June, July and August.  Not got as far as September.  I think I'll wait a bit....

Been told today that one major leisure site owner is refunding all deposits for bookings that were made for March 2021 and is possibly looking at not opening until May undecided

I think I may have read that some commercial/ private sites will carry forward the deposit to a later date, rather than refund, should there be any need for cancellation on either side due to Covid restrictions.  This probably wouldn't bother us too much, but I guess there are some who would want a refund.  The reason I mention it, is that it's worth asking the question when you book to avoid any misunderstanding at a later date.

The son of friends has booked Perran Sands in Cornwall in a standard static caravan for his family (2 adults and 2 small boys) in August and is paying over £2K a week.  I don't know if this is the norm in Cornwall for August, or whether prices have been hiked for this year.  Or because we have our own van and use rallies or CLs we have lost touch with how much it costs these days for a self catering holiday/  But it does seem an awful lot to me.

....Or because it's Haven and they're always sky high in August.

Personally, I’d not stay there if they paid me £2k per week.

Outrageous really, but there won’t be any bargains to be had in Devon & Cornwall this year, nor will there be any space on the beach or in any other facility that might be open this year.

A small cottage in Cornwall would cost a similar amount at peak times and at Chritsmas so I think you may be out of touch Patmau but it is very expensive. frown

Geez, I can get 2 months in an apartment in Lanzarote for that and empty beaches.

Yes, but that’s the point...this year you won’t.

Anyway, the weather in Lanzarote isn’t as exciting as Cornwall - nothing like an easterly gale (today) to stir things up a bit.
