TV aerial setup information by site

Having just been to a site for the first time without TV points in the bollards, I had to use an external aerial for the first time.  The cheapest one from Vision Plus (410?) worked a treat picking up the Mendip transmitter at Hurn Lane (not too taxing).  I looked on google to find where the appropriate transmitter was and then worked out the right compass bearing for the aerial and the polarisation (ie aerial had to be horizontal).  Perfect reception.

I was amazed at the random directions and polarisation chosen by other caravanners.  They seemed to be out fiddling throughout our week tryng to get the best reception.  Couldn't the caravan club publsh the appropriate direction and polarisation for each ste to get the best recepton?  Surely a quck one-off job per site but very useful to visitors who are perhaps not google savvy.
