Whilst I fully understand folk who wish to take pooch on holiday with them and the majority of dog owners seem to adhere to club rules and some dogs can be relatively quiet when on site, unfortunately there are still problems.
Having been a club member for over 30 years, I seem to notice that club sites are becoming increasingly populated with many dogs.
It seems to me that taking your dog on holiday now can mean taking one, two or I've even seen five dogs on one pitch. Soon I can see we will have more dogs on the sites than humans. Maybe the club needs a name change to the Caravan and Crufts club.
Seriously though, at least 60% of club members are probably non dog owners, yet we can be subjected to the nuisance that the animals do bring.
Owners, that fail to adapt to their pets toilet habits and don't quite make it to the dog walk: owners who let their dog(s) roam their pitch either on long or untethered, fouling whilst the owner is not watching. Owners, who let their dogs bark persistently ( not the occassional woof). Owners whoes dogs bark at everything that passes. etc.etc.
Should dogs be banned from some sites...obviously not. But dogs should be charged for, with income going to improve and extend dog walking areas if required.
Maybe we could have only certain areas (pitches) that are dog owner pitches conversely areas that are garaunteed to be dog free.
After all us non canine owners should also be catered for.
