Speed on site

We have just coma back from a few days at The Covert,ThetfordForest,Norfolk. What a lovely site.

We were however a bit dismayed that despite a 5 mph speed limit, very few were sticking to the limit. Many drivers we clearly doing about 20 mph. The rule is there for a very good reason.

Do such ‘offenders’ just think that because they only doing 20, are safe in their car with seat belts and air bags and  should an accident occur they wont be hurt,  and. presumably all others, pedestrians, children, dogs etc just have to take their chances.

The CC site there has just had a new (ish) tarmac road put in, there’s not a speed hump in sight. Maybe if they used an old, rough, potholed and rutted track it would slow down the speeders.

Or should they advance things and retro fit speed humps,  or maybe go a step further and have a warden waving a red flag walking in front of them….

Sorry, rant over :-
