My wife and I recently went to The Southport CC site for the umpteenth time. We like it because you can use the park and ride service to ride into town from the Eco centre  and of course return.  Well , not any more. Having spoken to the wardens and writing independantly to Sefton Council. It appears that the Club members were giving a lot of verbal abuse to to Bus Drivers, the Gentleman in the Blue booth which takes the money for paying customers and the reception staff inside the complex.  I can only say that I am stunned that a minority have spoiled it for us people of mature age who cannot walk as far now as we would like. I would like to reproduce one paragraph from a three page letter that I have recieved explaining some of the reasons.

"There have been many occasions when people from the caravan club have simply demanded to use the facility free of charge. Again there have been many occasions when the concourse has been "swamped" with caravan club members all of whom boarded the park and ride bus free of charge and ahead of our fee paying customers. that cannot be right. on more than one occasion club members have been in sufficient numbers to preclude our customers from actually boarding the bus thereby having to wait for the next one in. Some of the club member's sense of entitlement is breathtaking"

I fail to understand some of these comments as when we were able to use the service we were often on the bus alone or half full.  The club members are not that numerous though they may be now that the new section is open
