I can’t help with the site, but personally I wouldn’t use the A82 for traveling north or south, as it’s not very good if you want a low stress tow. I would go via Callander M80, M9, A84, A85. It only adds about 8 miles. You could use Strathclyde country park to overnight, which is very convenient from the M74.

That was my first thought too. The A82 alongside Loch Lomond is a stretch of road I always advise against using, especially towing a caravan. Obviously, an alternative route depends very much on your destination but I’d go along with Steve's suggestion.
This is fairly typical example of the road.

There is a CL just before Callender, and adjacent to the A84, but without EHU, which might suit for a single night's stop.
