Regular visitors to this site might like to watch the you tube video by Skyfilming titled York Flooding February 2020 Drone Aerial Video Film which shows the site and surrounding area under flood on the 17th.

As a member who lives in the vicinity, whilst the site will not gain and the work will cause some inconvenience to users of the site, it shows how the proposed flood defence work in the area is much needed.

The good news is that the flood water is now dropping fairly quickly.

We rang up just before storm clara to check, was told they evacuated the site on the Sunday. We were booked in from the 11th to 14th, still not managed to stay at rowntree in last 12 years, will have to keep trying

Whilst Rowntree Park is very convenient for visiting York, especially if you want to walk into the centre there are other sites nearby which are probably not as prone to flooding. Last year we stayed at Cherry Tree Cottage which is a small site north of York, all hardstandings but no toilet block. Half hourly bus service which stops outside the Railway Museum.

Good choice, David. We've stayed there a few times. I like the Idea of a slow reduction in price the longer one stays there, as well as the convenience of the bus stop just down the road from the entrance.
