Priority V’s First come Bookings?

I recently posted a comment regarding some form of priority be given to families booking summer holidays in July/August i.e. 50% of pitches held back into the new year before releasing them to all. The C.C. web page overloads on day one with bookings, mainly from members who like to travel or like week-ends.

See:- http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/community/discussions/caravan-sites/uk-caravan-sites/Summer-Holiday-Week-End-bookings/rt/257435/

I received a lot of flack for even suggesting such an idea (albeit from club members who love moving around), which to be honest, upset me, as this idea was not directly for my use as I am a pensioner.

I read with interest that our club has now issued a change in rulings for bookings for ‘Seasonal Pitches’.

Quote:

“We’ve listened to member feedback and revised the booking procedure for the 2013/2014 season, which we hope, will make the process easier for you” un-quote. See this month’s issue of ‘Seasonal & Seasonal Storage Pitches’.

In a nutshell, seasonal pitches can be booked before the December 5th 2012 schedule for all other members on a first come first served basis. This also gives seasonal bookings priority on sites.

Question to all persons who replied to my suggestion on priority bookings:

Why have you not posted your disagreements to the club management yet?

What are your thoughts now on this new ‘Seasonal Priority Bookings’ and will you convince your club to remove this rule?

I did decide not to post anymore but this ruling proves that someone agrees with my ideas and put measures in place, also, I was interested to hear from those same members.

Don’t direct your comments at me, as it doesn’t concern me.
