Pitch allocation

I booked a standard pitch with awning several months ago at Seaview, Berwick upon Tweed. On arrival I was informed of a few pitches I could have. We were told that certain pitches were being held back for bigger outfits. We have a modest size 2 berth Sterling Europa. On moving around the site I had to pass several empty pitches to go to less desirable pitches. Does the CC now condone sizeism ? Why should I pay the going rate for a pitch but not be able to chose from empty pitches on my arrival ? Smaller outfits were already on pitches when I arrived so they were obviously given free choice when the site was quieter. Being too big for a pitch is obviously a problem but this is the first time I have been told my outfit was not big enough. By the way a couple of pitches I not offered to me lay empty for a day or two until bigger outfits arrived.
