Paying a Damage Deposit at Sites

Most members have seen the damage a plastic or non breathable awning ground sheet can cause to grass if not lifted for several days or weeks, so causing the next visitor to that pitch to have to either pitch or walk through a muddy area.

How can the club reduce or prevent this?

On arrival should the member pay a deposit say £10 returnable on leaving if the pitch is clean, tidy and has no damage?

What do others think, I'm sure that only those who actually don't lift their groundsheets will oppose this suggestion.
