Pathetic Club Wi Fi

Spent £30 for a years access to the clubs Wi Fi, and have been swindled
Out of 8 sites only one had a slow ,but acceptable level of performance, the other Seven where that bad that most of the time the pages timed out ,some times it took ages to simply log on
When you bought this up to the site managers , you got the same reply. it was members streaming that was the issue
If that is the case , then the club should block streaming on sites where the Wi Fi is not up to it

When a poster makes a false  statement to support their  view ,then in the next sentence follows up with a crude non apology ,  the apology is false

Like I said I envy you your wisdom TMTO in such things

But why not answer my question on topic instead?

Having paid for the Clubs WiFi service  i agree
I only mentioned tethering to make the two comparable for screen size

How does tethering or not affect screen size?

No idea other than if you use a smart phone directly it has a smaller screen than a lap top etc tethered to it

I have attempted  to use club WiFi at most club sites I have used this year but only to access the club website. My overwhelming reaction has been "glad I am not paying for this"

I am not travelling at present but in previous years I have been generally happy with Club wifi.

And that is what some of us have been saying all along. A lot of posters say that the wifi should be 'free' that is included into the pitch fee. But of course nothing is 'free' and if the club were to do this the cost of that (plus installation?) would affect prices, or if 'absorbed' other services will not get their allocation of money as there is only a finite amount?

Personally I am in the pay for it if you want it, I have done without it for a while and even when I did pay it was no better than the service from my phone. If it was excellent then I might pay for it again.

I have found the same as you  and with our high  normal use of club sites  I have yet to find a cheaper alternative,,that can be used on all club sites that are connected
