Hello

we was wondering how best to size our Motorhome, at present we have put it down as 9m as it goes up in increment’s of 500, I ask as our outfit is 8.67 (tag axle) approximately 6inches over the 8.5m, would we get away with rounding down as 170mm isn’t far over the 8.5 some site specify.

we appreciate any help and advice.

Does having your outfit "put down", as you put it, at 9 metres prohibit you from going places or cost more money say for ferries/insurance than having it at 8.5 metres?

If not then I fail to see what you would gain by incorrectly marking it down at an incorrect height. Who are you trying to get away with it by using the lower height? If it is insurance then you are leaving yourself open to having your insurance invalidated.

I’m not really sure what you mean by "put it down" but don’t 'shorten' the van for ferry purposes as they often measure them and you’d be caught out!

As for club sites, the max length stated is the longest that can be accommodated either on a pitch or for manoeuvring on site. If in doubt, ring the site warden and ask rather than risk getting into difficulties.
