Old school 'Late Availability' returns

Interestingly, well at least to me, I looked at availability in Peak District on all campsites and there was only 3 days I couldn't book in absolute peak holiday time. 2 of those were at Castleton on a weekend and there was 1 night full at Chatsworth. Very few "Low" signs up as well.

I'm at a loss to understand who the club think their core membership is. The OAP brigade will generally drop off a little in high summer so the club should be encouraging families in. What has happened to their pricing structure that is leaving pitches unbooked? Where is the dynamic pricing structure that will tempt customers in? The discounts?

Is this sort of availability normal in July? We haven't stayed at a club site in high summer for decades so are a little out of the loop.

I'm sure they have their eye on the ball at EG. Probably the ball at Wimbledon though.winksmile

I think it might be "work in progress" as I can't get to work for August, just tried it out of interest (on my laptop.)

Think it only did 3 weeks in advance anyway

It ended on a Friday so that’s an exact number of weeks from today. Four weeks if I recall the date correctly.

Taken from an earlier Post - What has happened to their pricing structure that is leaving pitches unbooked?

My thoughts - Last year one could book ahead without deposits up to the end of June (I think) this year so maybe the first 6 months of 2023 were booked as normal in 2022 and now possibly with the current financial climate affecting many CAMC pitch prices and new T&C’s could be one of various contributory factors for seeing a fair few pitches available and so initiating the recent deposit offers.

Looking at the late availability calendar most sites now are free to book which is great news. We have just spent a few days on an off grid CL and it was full. Maybe the club needs to offer pitches without EHU as an option on club sites.?

Yes there are a lot in the drop down list and I see they have not corrected the fault that was there when it was first introduced. Select say Cotswold area and  Hardstanding serviced with awning or Hardstanding serviced without awning and you get no returns. However if you select  Service pitches you get several shown as available and this is the  case on the site pages. The list could and should have been simplified before this latest roll out.
