I was on walk yesterday and one of the Ramblers who is a Motorhomer/ Campervan user, he said that he had an email from his relation that lives in Penzance .The email says that Parking RV's within a certain distance from the Seafront is going to be banned. Apparently this comes into force as from 2022. Parking at Marazion is a bit of a premium as it is, how this will be managed will be interesting.

And even in Newquay - less upmarket than those four - they are trying to move those who are sleeping overnight in motorhomes parked at the street edge.

That includes people living long term in vans in residential streets.

They want to be careful they don’t bite the hand that feeds them. Newquay attracts a younger set for whom campervans are a big part of the lifestyle. The local authority has done a lot in recent years to clean the place up and the table dancers have gone šŸ˜‰. It is what it is. Probably not the kind of place your average CMC member might enjoy but live & let live and all that….Don’t expect Rick Stein there anytime soon.

EuroT, we’ll probably be in trouble for some thread drift. šŸ¤

SB, The NQ issue has been in the news with, so called, van-lifers being the main issue.
As ever, it seems that the behaviour of a very small number of people is the problem but, no matter what your view on their lifestyle, when it’s affecting others then they shouldn’t be surprised that action is proposed to restrict them.

I visited a business in Trebarwith Crescent on Monday and, based on their comments about the “disgusting behaviours” they see, I don’t think they would agree with your “live & let live” comment.

I can understand the reaction from some locals. I just wish these recurrent problems could be dealt with in a more intelligent way than tends to be the case, particularly when the reaction impacts on people who are not part of the problem. NQ & D&C Police have had some success when proactive with offenders e.g. waking them up at 2am to move them on and threatening to breathalyse them in the process.
