Low wattage appliances

Following on from the other topic :-

"Is it time for metered pitch electricity"

I mentioned on that topic that we use a low wattage kettle and that it takes forever to boil I wonder if we were to use a normal domestic kettle if we would use less electricty then the low wattage type as it would be switched on for a shorter lperiod of time. We have always used low wattage kettles (750w) so that we do not overload the the EHU.

We will continue to use the one we have until it eventually gives up. We have used it for the past 15 years or more so its been pretty reliable. Just planning for a replacement when required as you can get normal kettles cheaper and more readily.

I think the EHU bollards can cope with higher voltages now than when we started caravanning nearly 40 years ago.

Any thoughts on the matter?
