'Offers' emails from both clubs this morning....

CAMC......Book early and save 10% on Autumn Getaways

C&CC......No more booking in advance (to take advantage of 2023 offers...this looks like a bit of one upmanship over the CAMC 'qualifying' T/C

has the explosion of new campers and the desire to get out there slowed with folk getting back to their normal holidays of packages and cruises?

some (not all) anecdotal evidence on CT suggests (some) sites are running well below capacity...

prepare for more in the inbox...

There is oodles of space on the non electric grass pitches and I was given a choice on arrival AD. Spacing between hard standings is as per Club site standards. I will see if I can resize a photo.

The introduction of deals and price competition between business is good old free market capitalism at work. In the same way those who constantly whinge about club pitch prices are free to shop around, this shows how true competition and choice can eventually work to pressure business to reduce prices to their the benefit of the customers wallet. Let’s have more.

Strange Ttda as the current CL also has a storage area and it has been busy up to this afternoon. Loads of activity both in and out on Sunday, less so other days.

So, it looks like a topsy turvy type of year.

At the last bank holiday we were on a favourite site in the Lake District where it used to be nearly impossible to get on at a bank holiday. Friday and Saturday nights had 3 vans  including us. Sunday night we were alone. Could the price increase from £14 per night to £20 per night have any bearing on it ?

We are currently staying at Cayton Village, came here last year, same dates & it was ram packed...... it is a lovely site & we were blessed with fine weather but at most I would say it is only 60% capacity, the upper site very sparsely populated.....

I do not believe folk would have been sure of the inclement weather we are now experiencing 3 weeks ago to all claim back any deposits & look for an alternative holiday..... & would suggest folk are getting back to the 'norm' of package holidays.....

There was an appropriate thread some where on here so this may get moved by a 'Mod' if need be.....

Have attached some pics take at 1100 on both Sat 5th & Sun 6th Aug.

Well I just enjoy the space and good to hear from someone actually on site.

Yes you might be right about the package holidays though of course you can do both, as we do.

The photo's of Cayton Village look blissful.

I have never stayed on a club site anything like that, even this year..........

Please correct me but that looks like the upper/lower section of the site (never quite sure what its called) When we were there in June that part of the site was sparsely used but the section near reception was pretty full. Was that the case during your visit?

Hi David, yes they are pictures of the Upper Site, only 31 pitches occupied out of 100.

We are on the 'lower' Main site & from where I'm sitting there are 12 unoccupied pitches & this is only the 2nd week of the school hols.....

We were on the Upper site last year & it was at capacity.

The Experience Freedom units do not appear to be highly occupied either!
