I've just been on the web page for this site and the latest review, 25/8/2022, makes mention that the site is to close at the end of the season because of lack of use. There's no availability showing at the start of next year.

Just a mention of Marazion site and we get Rowena giving an update where is any update for High Inn?

It's quite poor. We have a web site to use if we need any news but that is quite lacking.

She could still be on holiday, for all we know, so maybe not her problem at the moment, but there should be someone from HO who could supply a proper updste, surely!

JVB, I do not spend my whole life on this site, so have just this minute noticed Ro's response to the other thread. I was going to edit my post above, to reflect that, and then ask why she has not made any comment about the closure of High Onn.😁

There are lots of other web sites out there, if that's your thing. For me it's my night time enjoyment after  18:30, much funnier than anything on TV these days.😃

You definitely need a thick skin at times with some of the remarks but then  those with years of facing Jo public it is what one comes to expect from those who cannot put up any intellectual answers

Just left High Onn today after what will be our last visit. Very sad really as when we arrived we had no idea it was closing in 10 days.

The site does have run down feel to it now, which is no reflection on the current warden who was parachuted in from Brora. There were only 15 units on site and 3 of those left with us.

As a marginal site financially once it requires work doing on it as it does now it is likely that closure will follow. I don't think we should minimise the difficulties of access, it is tricky and could be really awkward for a caravan if an obstinate driver was encountered. As units get bigger I think it is inevitable that this site will struggle and I don't think this the time for the club to experiment with niche specialised sites.

As many have said before me the clubs silence on the matter is baffling.

Members are advised that High Onn
Club Campsite will be closed for the 2023
season.

Quoted from the January 2023 magazine. Does this imply that closure is only temporary and it will open again at some point in time?

I really do think the Club needs a lesson in how to communicate clearly to be honest. Folks are too often left baffled and bemused by some of the unclear ambiguous statements, this being a case in point if PD’s quote is verbatim.
