Just interested if others experience the same problem as me regarding the above. I am referring to the occasions when we go to a local site (usually those within an hours travel) and we don't all travel and stay the same number of nights. For example this week I alone am taking the caravan to a local site on Thursday, getting it set up, staying overnight on my own and then for the second and third night wife and granddaughter will be joining me. Wife will take granddaughter home late Sunday and I will then pack van up and return Monday morning. We consider this the best approach when taking a three year old, now we are grandparents!
Ok so here's the rub. When I book the site online there is no option to differentiate regarding the number of adults for each night. I have to book two adults in for all four nights and then cause the warden a headache when I arrive as only they can adjust the numbers being paid for, on arrival. Just what they want when there is a queue! Ok I could just leave it and pay the ful booked amount but this happens on a number of occasions throughout the year and the £5.20 average adult nighly costs soon mount up.
Secondly if you book a standard pitch with/out awning and then you notice on line before you leave home say a service pitch comes free you can't adjust your booking online. You have to cancel and rebook ( and hope that the pitches are still free) or ring the site. Again creating work for the wardens or the central booking team.
Thoughts on this issue and whether there should be an enhancement to the online booking system
