Club Site Welcome Pack

Having just returned from a month's touring via Oxfordshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Anglesey, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk, staying in each of these counties for periods ranging from 1 to 10 nights, I now find myself the proud possessor of 7 club site welcome packs, each holding a site map and brochure listing local places of interest.  A pack which I presume is offered to each member when booking in.  We are already booked for a further 4 touring trips for later in the year, so I  will assume that the pile of folders will accumulate to an amazing extent by the end of the season.  At one club site, I did try to refuse the offer of the glossy leaflet on the grounds that I already had one, but was only met with a blank stare!

Are these glossy folders necessary?  Don't most members download a copy of the site plan before setting off on their journey?  Haven't most members already identified most of the attractions they would like to visit before making a booking?

At the risk of sounding Scrooge-like - is the expense of all this paperwork necessary and in a world of ever-increasing re-cycling, can this paper mountain be justified?  Perhaps the cost could be better used for extending the number of sites offering mid-week discounts.  Or, altruistically, perhaps members of the CC could adopt a worthwhile British charity to support.
