I arrived at Scarborough west ayton site this week to find pitches marked with blue posts. When i asked what these were i was told Non Awning Pitches. My concern is what if i arrive at a site with the intention of putting an awning up and the only pitches left are non awning ones. we arrived and watched as one caravan without an awning went into a white posted pitch,i dont think this has been thought out properly

Well  I never knew what a blue post pitch was  if I had I would have booked one every week. We have a motorhome and never put up an awning     All I get is book online 😩😩and I get we only have service pitches left at an extortionate rate,,   Just been talking to our neighbours on site and he said the club is now bigger than the members  which shouldn’t be     One last point  the site staff no longer answer the phone which I find incredibly rude.  I am a paying member and you WILL answer my call. Rant over

Hang on, how can you let them know what time you WILL be calling so someone can be on call as rudely demanded?

For quite a few years now members have been able to book an awning pitch (white marker) or a non awning pitch (blue marker). You can book an awning pitch but are under no obligation to put up an awning. Nothing has really changed with the new booking system except you can now book a preferred pitch surface.

Perhaps this link will help you decide what type of pitch to choose when booking. The details can be found in the FAQ section, but I can't seem to find the post colour identification link.

This link can also be found under the  Find a UK campsite heading on the intro page.
