Battery powered site maintenance equipment

We have observed a team of maintenance people on a large site in France today. Sit upon mower, battery powered, going for a few hours and very quiet. Strimmer (a whopper) powered by a power pack on the operator's back, also really quiet. We lolled about on our pitch in relatively undisturbed peace while the work went on. Has the club moved yet from those deafening engine powered strimmers and mowers yet?

The equipment on club sites is quite long-lasting stuff, and an accountant's  justification would be based on running cost / saving by investment for new. Admittedly, the return on investment would not be great, in cash terms, but is the club just in it for the cash?

Has anyone come across any environmentally friendly / quiet equipment yet on club sites?

On numerous sites have noted the use of such equipment as in your last sentence ,they are called brooms

Good! So the current fashion / trend towards electric driven replacing engine driven is going to give us some extra peace on club sites. That's a significant step in the right direction in my opinion. We haven't used club sites much for several reasons, and the obsession with noisy mowing and strimming is one of them.

Afternoon

I know of at least 6 sites this year that have had battery powered tools delivered in March along with the chargers. Batteries however are non existent and we've been advised of months of waiting.

I have a battery blower, works well. Aside from less noise there's far less hand/ arm vibration involved in using these tools.
