I'm sure most of you remember my defence of WiFi on CAMC sites.

Really people sort your own problems and needs out.

well, smug cow, having returned to the club fold, what a pathetic lot of old rubbish it is.

The world has moved forward.  We all now expect a service. Air Angel is just a sick, bad, joke.

It might be an upgrade is needed for not only visiting members but for the site managers to go about the business of running the site.

Unfortunately fibre has not yet been installed nationwide although there is a big push going on at the moment. Some places will be relying on alternative transmissions where fibre isn't an option.

CAMC opted for a secondary supplier and have another tier in the supply line with which to contend.

I wonder if the Club is in a quandary about the supply of WiFi on sites. Where it can it seems to be adding fibre connections to sites. How much this is costing we have no idea. As I have said before that without knowing what the uptake of site WiFi is amongst members it is difficult for any of us here to answer the last para in you post. I can't be alone in getting site surveys after I visit a Club site. In those surveys they ask a fair few questions. Did you use Club WiFi? If not why not? Did you use 4G? So either the Club are re-evaluating it's offer on WiFi or perhaps wondering whether it is worthwhile, but until they tell us we won't know.

Have not received a site survey recently, maybe you are alone?!

Brue

We have stayed at four Club sites this year and from memory got four surveys. Do you normally get Club emails other than confirmation of bookings? If you opt out of emails it is possible you won't get them. I suppose it is possible that they could be selectively sent out but how do they decide?

i got a (existing customer) deal from Vodafone...100gb plus unlimited calls/texts for £10 a month.

two weeks away now, one THS and one CL (rural New Forest area) and have been running two ipads, phone, and streaming services on Firestick and Sky box...

with coverage (and cost) getting better all the time (as opposed to increasing site wifi demand/cost probably impacting performance adversely) surely making ones own 'arrangements' is the way to go?

we did have an annual club wifi contract a while back but it was so poor we dumped it.

Recently when I discovered I couldn't get a 4G signal on my EE based phone I tried Margaret's phone which is based on O2 and that was fine. Only trouble was I used up all her data and she had to buy some more!!!! I think we may have to change her plan!

That’s what we did David.  OH has EE, I have O2, our EE data is 100GB and on my O2 it’s just 20GB but it has, so far, been enough for emails and news, etc (haven’t tried steaming) on both our iPads and phones.   We like to keep different providers as some work better than others in certain areas. Air angel just wasn’t worth bothering with.
