Abbey Wood - low emission zone

Abbey wood site is in the London low emissions zone so it’s £100 a day if not a Euro6 engine. We’re supposed to be going there this week ( for Chelsea Flower Show) but that makes it ridiculous. Surely the Club should be informing of this when acknowledging a booking there and does anybody know anyway of avoiding it? Besides not doing Chelsea

It is in the site information page about the LEZ and what may be neededsurprised

Depends where you are coming from? use one of the sites on the ourskirts of London and use the Train or bus?

Malsville, next time  you could use the Wyatts Covert club site and take the bus from the gate at 0949 to Uxbridge tube station.

The LEZ was expanded on 25 October 2021 to become the ULEZ and if you drive within that zone you will pay £12.50a day - unless your car is modern enough and clean enough to be exempt. Abbey Wood is within the ULEZ.

Providing the club don't close it early again like this year.

ET Is Abbey Wood in the ULEZ zone.?

I thought the ULEZ zone was within the North and South Circular A205 and A405 so if you follow the directions in the handbook you do not enter the new ULEZ zone.

Its would appear Crystal Palace is even more confusing as again if you follow the directions in the handbook from the A2 you actually use the South Circular until Sydenham Hill but the A205 is outside this zone.

I have entered my reg into the TFL gov website and my Euro 5 engined Kuga is now payable for the ULEZ zone but not the LEZ zone.

It does look to be outside the ULEZ, it seems only to go as far east as Woolwich according to the map on this page https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone/ulez-where-and-when. The route you mention, particularly at the weekend, is much better in my view than the Club directions. These were my notes from the last time I visited:-

"From M25 leave at junction 1A and take A206 in the direction of Erith and Thamesmead. The road changes to the A 2016. (don’t take any other signed route to Abbey Wood as this could prove difficult) Exit A2016 onto A2041 signed for Abbey Wood/Thamesmead. Continue on the road which takes you over Abbey Wood Station to next roundabout and take first exit into Knee Hill. Within a couple of hundred metres turn right into Federation Road (site signed) and site is on left. (This is not the official CC route which takes you to Abbey Wood from the A2 and is signed throughout, however the route above is easier with better roads)"
