A68 and A6088 closed at Carter Bar Mon to Sat

Just in case anyone is travelling to or from the north east to the Melrose site and area the A68 and the A6088 are closed from 9am to 3pm Monday to Saturday at Carter Bar for the next three weeks. The A68 closure is posted on a website but not the A6088.

This means anyone from/to Melrose can't use the A68, or the A6088 from Hawick, and the only sensible alternative is to go to Kelso and then Coldstream then down to Morpeth.

It is well signposted on the English side of the border well in advance at Newcastle but not on the Scottish side, in fact their diversion sign post was just before Jedburgh and the route is to go to Hawick then the A7 to Carlisle then back along the A69.
