Where are all the Brits?

My wife and I have been ' on the road ' since the 15th May, when we left home for our annual working  holiday. We have been through France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Northern Italy, Istria and we are now briefly in Camping Bled in Northern Slovenia. Monday we will be off again - just a short trip into Austria to visit Camping Ossiachersee, before moving on to Hungary and Lake Balaton. This camp here is the first one where we have really seen any of our countrymen/women. Why?  We have experienced some wonderful weather from Switzerland eastwards and could hardly tear ourselves away from the campsites near Porec in Istria. The weather there was in the upper 20s and the camps were very full with every nationality except those from our island.... is it money, the Jubilee, the build up to the Olympics/Paralympics that is keeping everyone at home or are our fellow countrymen going somewhere else? Certainly, with the €  being about 10% more in our favour and petrol/diesel  prices being so much lower than the UK, there is little reason not to travel.

This camp has about 10% of the campers from the UK, so it seems to be the exception.

Come on in, the water's lovely. (And the wine, the food and, till today, the weather) Maybe we will see some of you later on our trip.
