Using a Remoska abroad?

In an effort to conserve gas whan abroad, as well as to make more use of the electric that is paid for anyway, we are considering a Remoska or perhaps a single hotplate. 

There are lots of positive comments on here about the Remoska but there are some suggestions elsewhere that the (Czech) electric components might cause supply-tripping problems. Given that EL points abroad may not always be as robust as here, are these products reliable and useful in those situations?
