Twin axle caravans in France

I recall some months ago, a CT member mentioned that Municipal sites in France will no longer accept twin axle caravans following a Directive from central government earlier this year.   In the process of our trip around SW France doing site inspections for a well-known organisation we have found this to be the case with many commercial sites also saying they do not accept twin axles unless by prior arrangement.  I have posted this on CT because I think if anyone has a twin axle caravan and intends touring France, they may find it useful to phone ahead to the site they want to visit to check beforehand they will take twin axles.
