Touring in Ireland

Having exhausted Mainland Europe for the time being we are off to Ireland for a few weeks in May.  Thanks to Tesco Vouchers we can cross Cairnryan to Larne free of charge.  It is a long way round from Sussex, I know, but we are visiting friends in the north en route and are heading initially for Lisburn to visit an elderly aunt.  From Lisburn we want to spend a couple of weeks touring the west coast, ignoring Donegal and Kerry, where we have been before.

Our aim is Sligo, Mayo, Connemara, Galway and the Burren.

The few sites we have found are varied, from rather grim looking mobile home parks to huge holiday parks.  We prefer quiet sites with good facilities.

We have driven Ireland many times in the past in our pre caravan days, but this is the first trip with the van.  My recollection of the roads is that they are reasonable, but narrow in places.

Any suggestions for sites, routes to avoid and "must see" attractions would be gratefully received.
