Survive the 'Mayan Apocalypse' (!) in France

I presume everyone has head that the ancient Mayans forecast the end of the world on 21st December 2012?  Well apparently a small French village, near to where our friend lives in the French Departement of Aude, is the only place on earth which will 'survive', according to an article on the Guardian website this morning.  Click here for link!

Our friend has emailed the article to us us, asking if we want to join him for Christmas - and take ourselves to Bugarach .  I told him he should let it to gullible Americans (of which there are plenty flocking around the area apparently), but before he offers it 'at an affordable rent' anyone care to rent a holiday cottage for a week or two (just in case!!!!)
