Spain in October

We are new to caravanning this year and were planning to go to Spain in October but have been put off by warnings about attacks on motorways around Barcelona and over the border from France both in the club magazine and reports we have found on the Internet.

Would any of you avid travellers have any advice.

We went to the South of France in July and had a great holiday with no problems but Spain sounds a lot different.
