Security of Motorhome in France.

We have booked our first trip to France (4 weeks in June) and are wary about security, probably as I have been in the alarm and CCTV industry for 30 years and maybe looking for problems that dont exist.

Our motorhome has the additional Fiamma locks on all 3 doors but no alarm. I feel that I need to get the van alarmed and fit a safe for cash, documents , passports etc. Am I being paranoid and going overboard or are these all nessesary?
